Use digital banking services. If you aren’t already using digital services for your banking needs, now is a good time to start. Our mobile app and online banking services allow our members to pay their bills, remote deposit checks, transfer money to other accounts and people, turn their debit cards off and on and more, all from the comfort of your couch. If you’ve been holding back on using digital services, now’s the perfect time to jump in! Using digital services will help you follow social distancing guidelines and minimize physical contact with others which can limit the spread of the virus.
Use contactless payments. Many stores now have the option to pay with the digital wallet on your smartphone or a contactless credit card. If you’ve never used a form of contactless payment, or simply forgot to set it up, now’s the time. With contactless payments, you’re less likely to be required to touch a checkout terminal that dozens of others have used that same day (ew!) —and it’s fast and convenient as well.
Remember your investment strategy. It’s not uncommon for the market to be volatile during times of uncertainty, but investors who have a forward-looking plan in place should view these global events in the context of their own personal goals, rather than getting drawn into breaking news coverage or social media posts.
